| Background
Uttarayan made a modest start as a playgroup with just
3 children who could no longer belong to any regular school.
Today the school has about 60 children. Some of its
ex-students have ventured out as confident individuals in
pursuit of small jobs or businesses with a degree of economic
independence.
With
a total staff strength of 14 full timers including trained
teacher and many part-timers the quality and degree of
individualised attention has resulted in a high rate of
response and progress.
The
School has facilities for multi-dimensional activities aimed
at holistic development of the pupil. The focus of
training is need based.
